Vladimir Umansky (Russian, b. 1948) oil on canvas female portrait. Signed lower right and dated 199p. Mounted on the back with an information list Art of Vladimir Umansky and titled Girl under Umbrella. Framed. Vladimir Umansky was born in Leningrad, USSR. Upon graduating from the Repin Institute in 1973, Umansky began his artistic career in Fine Arts and became a distinguished member of the Union of artists of Russia. Umansky's unique provocative works depict original characters who take the viewer on a deep philosophical journey. For the last thirty years, Umansky has participated in international exhibitions and over 400 of his works have been placed in major museums and private collections internationally, including the George Riabov Collection, Jane Vorhees Zimmerli Art Museum, and the St. Petersburg Academy of Art Museum.
