Ilya Bolotowsky, Russian American, 1907 to 1981, acrylic painting on canvas titled Yellow Diamond with Blue and Black, 1977. Inscribed and signed to the back. Ilya Bolotowsky was an early 20th-century painter in abstract styles in New York City. His work, a search for philosophical order through visual expression, embraced cubism and geometric abstraction and was influenced by Dutch painter Piet Mondrian.
