ANTIQUE 19TH C RUSSIAN OLD TESTAMENT TRINITY ICON
An antique Russian 19th century Orthodox icon, The Old Testament Trinity. Hand painted in tempera on a wood panel with raised kovcheg borders. The finely executed icon shows the Old Testament Trinity against an architectural setting and a rocky landscape. The three angels are sitting at a table in front of the Oak of Mamre, Abraham on the left and Sarah on the right, and their servant kills the calf for the meal. Executed in great detail.
