RUSSIAN COSSACK BRONZE SCULPTURE AFTER EVGENY NAPS
Patinated bronze sculpture after Evgeny Naps, a German-born Russian sculptor active in the late 19th to early 20th century. The artwork represents Taras Bulba, a Zaporozhian Cossack, character of Nicholai Gogols novel of the same name. The design of the figurine is based on the 1880s painting titled Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks by Ilya Repin. Unsigned. The sculpture is mounted on a black stone pedestal.
