A large neoclassical carnelian intaglio. Allegory of Aurora.
Early 19th century.
32x35x5 mm
The divinity is represented riding a biga above clouds. On top, a winged Eros holding a torch. In front of the biga, a star. Very nice polishing of the engraving. Fine execution, close to the Pichler's and Cerbara's intaglios with the same subject. Attractive vivid color. Slight wear marks.
