WWII - 70s US Navy Four Star Admiral Colbert Archive
Exceptional WWII – 1970s US Navy Four Star Admiral group to Adm. Richard G. Colbert, who at careers end commanded Allied Forces Southern Europe. In WWII he commanded the USS Barber (DD-213), and the USS Meade (DD-602). He held post war commands of the USS Atlanta and USS Boston. A complete biography can be found online. The group includes his medals such as the Distinguished Service Medal, Legion of Merit, Joint Service Commendation Medal, campaign medals, Italy Order of Merit Star and Grand Cross, Turkish Meritorious Service Medal (engraved to Adm. Colbert), sterling Secretary of Defense Badge, sterling pin back Admiral shirt rank, medal boxes, original medal citations and certificates, portrait photos of himself and other Admirals, and a large pile of research and records, both copied and original. The display case does not come with this group.
