WWII 509th Parachute Infantry POW Bronze Star & Coin
WWII Airborne POW Group to Pfc. William J. Nolan of 2nd Bn., 509th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He was captured as a Prisoner of War on 15 Sept. 1943 after jumping into Avellino, Italy, and released 31 May 1945. Includes his named Bronze Star Medals (one has crooked engraving which is probably why a second was issued), sterling CIB, ribbons, two named challenge coins to him, POW Medal, and campaign medals. Comes with some research. He is listed as a member of the 509th that made that jump, and this is an extremely difficult unit to find. The display case does not come with this group.
