Intriguing Iolite and Diamond Halo Pendant

Genuine Iolite and Earth-Mined Diamond Pendant.  Iolite is strongly trending in the 2023 jewelry industry for bluish-violet gemstones. The 3.94 carat oval-cut iolite is a commanding presence in this 14 karat white gold pendant with .26 carats of round, brilliant-cut, H-I color, I1 clarity diamonds in the framing halo. The iolite has a faceted pavilion, making the flashes of violets more scintillating. The pendant is approximately 1" and has a swirled gallery.  It hangs from a free-moving bail. This pendant is certified and appraised for $9,230.00 estimated retail replacement value.

Auction Code: Q8410/67 - anl

Iolite is mined in India, Sri Lanka, Madagascar, Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Norway, and Brazil and is famous as a Viking navigational aid.  The Vikings probably mined Iolite in Norway and Greenland.

  • Iolite is becoming a favorite gemstone for independent designers. It is a gemstone not typically find it in chain stores.
  • The largest known iolite was found in Wyoming, weighing 24,000 carats.  That is more than 10 pounds!
  • The size range for a fashioned iolite is anywhere from 1 to 10 carats. Fine iolites over 5 carats are rare.
