Antique c1910 Garden Maze quilt with an everlasting tree border, measuring 89" x 88". Fabrics are a consistent red solid and off white shirting with red and black bubbles. The garden maze pattern is constructed using three blocks that are each 5" x 5". The everlasting tree border measures 9.25" wide. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and a red, white and blue art deco print on the reverse. It is this print that I am dating the quilt to, although it may actually be older. A red binding is applied to the edges. It is in good condition with a few spots, minor toning and fading. This quilt is part of the Living Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon is the authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
