Also in this auction is a large collection of quilts and tops from a Wisconsin Collector, collections from Kansas and Connecticut. The NY Collection includes Woven Coverlets, Blankets, and Deerfield Embroidered Quilts. We are also excited to continue to offer the Textile Document Sample Collection from a well known NYC textile and garment design archive which provided design and concept inspiration to fashion and textile designers around the world for more than 25 years!

2 Antique Quilts - Double Irish Chain, Log Cabin
Group includes a c1870 Double Irish Chain quilt measuring 85 x 88 inches. It is hand pieced and hand quilted with thin cotton batting and a wonderful brown stripe reverse. The fabrics in the front are early double blue, early double pink, and over dyed green. It is in poor condition with several splits spots and loose seams. Along with a c1900 Log Cabin Quilt in a Straight Furrows arrangement. Measuring 74 x 76 inches. It is machine pieced and hand quilted, with thin cotton batting and a light cotton print reverse. There is a narrow applied blue cotton binding to the edge by hand. It is also in poor condition with overall fading, discoloration spots, and small splits, on the front and on the back. Please see all the photos. These quilts are part of the Estate of widely respected Sharon Stark of Sharon's Antiques Vintage Fabrics and Textiles of Eastern PA. She was an author and long time collector and dealer of antique quilts, fabrics and textiles. Sharon was THE authority on Feedsacks, and you may remember her Rickrack website.
