Antique c1910 Red Cross Quilt measuring 67x77", The Red Cross Blocks are Set on point to form a Red X. It is comprised of 49 blocks, set on point, 7 by 7, with off white setting squares and triangles. There is a red border on the top and bottom and a white border on all 4 sides. It is hand and machine pieced, and hand quilted. Thin cotton batting and an off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied red fabric binding, by machine. There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt, and signed by Bobby Aug. It is in good condition with just a few small spots. This quilt can be seen on page 97 of "Vintage Quilts" co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
