Antique c1880 Mennonite Bars Quilt - PA measuring 86"x92". Triple bars with 1.75" of yellow, green, and yellow prints alternate with 4.5" double pink bars. It is hand pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and brown print reverse. The edge is finished with the front brought to the back, by hand. In good condition with a few small spots. This quilt can be seen on page 30 of "Antique Quilts & Textiles" co-authored by Bobby Aug. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
