Antique c1870 Cactus Pot Quilt measuring 68x75". Comprised of 168 pieced blocks, 3.5x3.5", set on point, 12 by 14, with solid off white alternating setting squares, triangles, and 3" border. Great small scale! It is hand and machine pieced and hand quilted. There is a thin cotton batting and off white cotton reverse. The edge is finished with an applied off white binding. In fair condition with storage line discoloration, small spots, marks, water mark, period repair, and one small hole in a fold. The quilting is excellent! There is a sleeve for hanging attached to the back along the top of the quilt. From the Estate of Bobbie Aug. Bobbie Aug was a well known and regarded quilt historian, author, appraiser, and quilter for over a half a century. She was also an antique quilt dealer and quilt store co- owner and judge. Most notable is her work on the American Quilter's Society Quilt Appraiser Certification Committee and her early involvement in the Professional Association of Appraisers-Quilted Textiles.
