שתי מסכות ענקיות אפריקאיות מקמרון מגולפות בעץ, עטופות בעור ומקושטות בחרוזים צבעוניים וקאוריס, מסכות מפוארות כאלה נדירות מאד ונעשו לפאר בתי מלכים. (אחת דומה קטנה בהרבה נמצאת במוזיאון של לונדון). עבודות כאלה נעשו רק על ידי אנשי שבט BAMUN BAMULK בקמרון. גודל כל אחת 86 סמ' על 40 סמ' רוחב. נדירות ביותר ולא מצאתי דומות באף מקום ברשת. This a fabulous Carved Wood and Beaded Mask from the Bamum People of Cameroon. The Bamum facial features are exaggerated, with bulging eyes, a big flattened nose topping a laughing mouth. Beadwork is an essential element of Bamum/Bamileke Art and what distinguishes them from other regions of Africa. It is an art form that is highly personal in that no two pieces are alike and are often used in dazzling colors that catch the eye. They may be an indication of status based on what kinds of beads are used. Bead work utilized all over on wooden masks is a technique that is unique only to the Cameroon grasslands. זה הסבר על מסכה בגודל שליש מהמוצגות אצלי בצבע כמעט אחיד.
