A Chiled who survived the Buchenwald death camp. 3/7/1945

A rare photograph documenting a 5-year-old 'war orphan' child sitting on the steps of a U.N.R.R.A [United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration] truck in Bechonwald, prior to his transfer to Switzerland. Photo: Allied Photography Department. On the boy's hand can be seen an armband that reads:"Buchenwald".

The photograph is depicted on the original page attached to it in an Allied stencil print. The description states that this child is one of the children in a group of Yugoslavs, Czechoslovaks, Poles and Russians - war orphans who transmitted to Switzerland after years in the death camps. And dated 3/7/1945. U.N.R.R.A is a former United Nations body designed to care for all refugees under Allied occupation in Europe and the Far East after World War II .

Size: 23x18 cm. Very good condition.
