Real-photo postcard showing the synagogue on Wolmarans street - Johannesburg [South Africa]. Sent to Jerusalem from a hotel in Cape Town on 9/26/1940.
This synagogue is the largest 'crown' synagogue in South African Jewry, founded in 1887 and designed by the great artist Theophile Schaerer. The synagogue has served over the years the two largest congregations in the city.
Slight crack. Good-moderate condition.
