JIMMY DURANTE
(1893-1980) American singer, comedian, and actor. He often referred to his nose as the schnozzola (Italianization of the American Yiddish slang word schnoz 'big nose'), and the word became his nickname. TLS, 1page, February 14, 1964, 6.5 x 4.5 in., featuring an ink stamp of Durante's portrait at upper left, in part: 'Thanks a million for the birthday card, and I want you to know I really appreciate it!... I wish you everything I wish myself...I love ya!', Signed in blue ink at conclusion. Includes the transmittal envelope. Double-matted with a 9 x 7 in. b/w photograph of Durante, overall size 16.5 x 13 in., ready for framing. Very good.
