SUPERMAN VS MUHAMMED ALI TREASURY EDITION
Here is one of the most popular and collected comic books in the world. It has worldwide appeal to the comic, sports, and pop culture collector. The DC Treasury comics came out in the 1972 and ran until 1978. It was an oversized 10 x 14 tabloid (or “treasury”) format comic. DC Comics sales at the time were in a slump, so the Treasury Editions were produced in order to help boost sales. There were 32 DC Treasuries produced between 1972-1978. Most of the Treasuries were re-print’s of popular vintage comics. However, there were a handful of new content/titles they labeled All-New Collectors Edition. The most popular of all of the Treasuries and the most collected is this one C-56 from 1978 Superman vs. Muhammed Ali.Here are the details of the book via Wikipedia Superman vs. Muhammad Ali is an oversize celebrity comic book published by DC Comics in 1978. The 72-page book features Superman teaming up with the heavyweight boxing champion Muhammad Ali to defeat an alien invasion of Earth. It was based on an original story by Dennis O'Neil which was adapted by Neal Admas, with pencils by Adams, and figure inks by Dick Giordano with background inks by Terry Austin.Superman vs. Muhammad Ali's wraparound cover shows a host of late 1970s celebrities, including Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Tony Orlando, Johnny Carson, the cast of Welcome Back, Kotter, The Jackson 5 & many more.
