Marco Verratti (Pescara, 5 November 1992) is an Italian footballer, a midfielder for Al-Arabi. With the Italian national team he was European champion in 2021.

Considered one of the best European talents of his generation, at the beginning of his career he was often compared to Andrea Pirlo.

He has tied most of his career to Paris Saint-Germain, a team of which, with 30 trophies won, he is the most successful footballer. He holds the record for victories in the French championships, in the French cup, in the French League cup and in the French Supercup.

In the latter competition he also holds the record for appearances.

He is also the third player with the most appearances (416) in the history of the Parisian club, behind only Jean-Marc Pilorget and Marquinhos.[

He was the third player in the history of the Italian national team, after Raffaele Costantino and Massimo Maccarone, to have received the first call-up without having made his Serie A debut up until then. Together with Grifo and Gnonto, in addition, he is the only one of the group not to have made his Serie A debut (as of 2024).
