A SWEDISH KING GUSTAF ADOLPH 30TH WAR MEDAL
Gustaf Adolph, King of Sweden 1611 - 1632, Cased gilded medallion with his likeness given as a Military Award. The reverse shows a fighting lion, with the motto "DEO ET VITRICIBUS. ARMIS". One of the earliest victory medals.Footnote: Gustav Adolph was killed in battle in 1632 as leader of the Protestants in the Thirty-Year War.
