AN EARLY IRON CRUSIE LAMP WITH CHASED HUNTING SCENE, CA. 15TH-16TH CENTURY
An early iron crusie lamp which has been decoratively chased with a hunting scene around the border of the piece, showing four hounds chasing after a hare. The piece is shaped in the usual way with a spout at front and center for holding the wick and a suspension hook curving over the top. A similar, simpler example can be found on page 321 of 'Decorative Antique Ironwork: A Pictorial Treasury' by Henry-René D'Allemagne.

Condition: Very good for age. Some minor surface rust throughout.
