AN ART DECO ELGIN 14K GOLD AND STERLING SILVER FLASK
Elgin sterling silver flask inlaid with two-tone 14k gold, ca. 1930.
It measures 5 3/4'' by 3 3/4'' by 7/8'' in depth.
Weight: 6 troy ounces (186.6 grams), and bears hallmarks as shown.
The Elgin American Manufacturing Company was a subsidiary of the Illinois Watchase Company, founded in 1889 by the Eppenstein Brothers Company. Manufacturer of matchboxes, vanity sets, photo and cigarette cases, and other novelties, some of their pieces are in the permanent collection of the Elgin History Museum.
