Alexander Evgenievich Yakovlev (Russian, 1887–1938), black charcoal and sanguine on paper drawing "Impressions of Sergei Koussevitsky, conducting the Boston Symphony Orchestra, " 1936. Signed and dated "A. Iakovleff 1936" lower left, and stamped with Zorin Collection stamp. Mounted in a carved gilt-wood frame behind plexiglass.

Note: Sergei Koussevitsky (1871-1951) was the renowned conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra for over twenty years. He was a noble philanthropist and founder of orchestras and music festivals such as the Tanglewood Summer Music Academy in Massachusetts.
