A EUROPEAN SILVER CENTERPIECE, 19TH CENTURY
A fine silver Jardiniere centerpiece in the Louis XVI style with Romanesque columns and decoration around its body as well as pierced chain-like fencing in the voids between. The twin handles are shaped as spiraling plans and the feet are shaped as columnal bases with foliate adornment. The silver basket holds a glass bowl of similar shape, which would have been used to hold flowers or other plants. Silver hallmarks 'FR' as well as another stamped mark on the inside of the piece.
