A GERMAN CIGARETTE CASE FROM GORING TO NOWOTNY
A silver cigarette case with engraving and gilt silver eagle overlay with diamond-decorated swastika, a gift from Herman Goring to Nowotny. The German inscription reads: To my successful captain Walter Nowotny December 7, 1944. (Walter Nowotny (7/12/1920 – 8/11/1944) an Austrian-born fighter ace of the Luftwaffe in WWII. He is credited with 258 aerial victories in 442 combat missions.)
