BERGSON HENRI: (1859-1941) French Philosopher. A major influential Thinker. Awarded Nobel Prize in Literature, 1927. A good A.L.S, `H. Bergson´, three pages, 8vo, Paris, 32 rue Vital, 24th October 1922, to André Gillois, in French. Bergson states in part `Il y a déjà plusieures semaines que vous avez bien voulu m´inviter en termes fort aimables, à donner mon opinion sur certaines questions formulées par Mr Bourquin et relatives au vocabulaire philosophique..´ (“Several weeks ago you kindly invited me in very kind terms to give my opinion on certain questions formulated by Mr Bourquin related to philosophical vocabulary…”) Bergson further explains how busy he has been and still is and asks if he is still in time to send his responses saying `…peut-être d´ailleurs est-il maintenant trop tard. Je vous serais très oblige de vouloir bien me faire savoir s´il est encore temps et, dans ce cas, de m´envoyer un nouvel exemplaire du questionnaire´ (“…perhaps it is now too late. I would be very grateful if you would kindly let me know if there is still time and, in this case, send me a new copy of the questionnaire”) Paper with a St George´s watermark.
