MENOTTI GIAN CARLO: (1911-2007) Italian composer. T.L.S., Gian Carlo Menotti, one page, 8vo, Yester, Gifford, East Lothian, 11th July 1974, to Jay S. Harris of Weissberger & Harris, Counselors at Law in New York. Menotti returns some signed papers (no lomger present) as requested by Barclays bank and remarks ´I have left out the address under my signature as I do not know whether I should put my Scottish or American address´, concluding by writing ´Spoleto was a smashing success but left me completely smashed´. In 1958 Menotti had founded the Festival dei Due Mondi in Spoleto, which was followed by its American counterpart, Spoleto Festival USA, in 1977.
