יוחנן סימון
דמויות בנוף, גואש על נייר 14x10 ס"מ, נושא הקדשה מאחור. פנינה של האמן, ממוסגר. יוחנן סימון, ישראלי, יליד גרמניה, 1975-1905. יצירותיו של סימון מאופיינות בשילוב שבין השפעות האמנות האוונגרדית הצרפתית לבין השפעות האמנות הסוציאליסטית. בעבודות אלו הופיעו דימויים הקשורים לחיי הקיבוץ והמדינה בסגנון סמבולי. בנוסף לציוריו יצר מספר יצר מספר ציורי הקיר לספינות ישראליות, מבני הציבור ובתי מלון, כולל משרדי בנק ישראל בניו יורק . זכה לפרסים ותערוכות בגלריות מובילות בארץ. הוא למד אמנות באוניברסיטת ברלין, ובשנת 1926 נרשם לאקדמיה לאמנות בפרנקפורט על נהר המיין, שם למד ציור אצל מקס בקמן ורישום אצל פיטר רסמוסן, שהשפיע עליו רבות. בשנת 1928 עבר לצרפת, שם התיידד עם הצייר הצרפתי אנדרה דרן, ממובילי תנועת הפוביזם, והושפע ממנו בתחום הציור בצבע.
