"During the heaviest of the wars of Israel I had been with you, and you are greater and stronger than any fighters I have ever seen" - Certificate of Appreciation Presented to the Soldiers of the Ha'Mapatz Division - Signed by the Division Commander, Major-General Moshe Peled - 1973
A framed certificate on parchment-like paper, covered with glass. The map of the battles of the Yom Kippur War at the south of Ramat Ha'Golan appears on the certificate. Beside the map, quotes from combat brochures that had been handed out during the war:
"… the battle was difficult yet our achievements were impressive. All of Ramat Ha'Golan is in our hands …", "My soldiers and commanders, I salute you…", "Remember: the fate of many will be in your hands…"
Finally, Major-General Moshe Peled, the commander of the Mapatz Division, writes: "My brothers in battle: we walked together on the most difficult of roads. May these words be evidence that your actions have not been forgotten".
The certificate is hand-signed by him.
The certificate was given to the soldiers of the Mapatz Division in appreciation of their part in the war.
Major-General Moshe Peled (1925-2000) served as the commander of the armored corps. He was acknowledged as "one of the five greatest commanders of the armored corps in history" at the Museum of the Armored Forces at Fort Knox, Kentucky, USA, due to his part in the battles at the Syrian front during the Yom Kippur War and his contribution to the development of the combat doctrine of the IDF armored forces.
