"Hachnasat Orchim" (Hospitality) Note - 1835 - Rare and Interesting
The note is written in Teitch – Hebrew-German.
A note of giving Tzedaka (charity) of "Kupat Hachnasat Orchim" (Hospitality Fund) which was meant for guests of the community in Germany.
These notes were meant to support poor guests going from door to door, yeshiva students and the like.
The note before us belongs to an unknown community, signed "ק"ק א"י".
On the note appear the handwritten name and signature of the community leader, a description of the guests ("three young men") and the sum of money that they will be given.
