Rabbi Israel Friedman (1859-1948), the oldest Rabbi of the ancient Hassidic dynasty of Riz’in. In the year of 1893 his father stepped down from the leadership of the Chassidut in Hosiatin and Rabbi Israel took his place as the spiritual leader of thousands. Towards the end of his days he immigrated to Israel and rebuilt the spiritual center of Hosiatin in the city of Tel Aviv. He was known for his love of the land and its settling.
