One of the few maps to show the Exodus using English nomenclature and annotations. The 42 Israelite encampments are marked, while significant scenes are depicted, such as the battle against Amalek. Two large strapwork cartouches and fine compass rose. From: Sir Walter Raleigh. The History of the World. London, 1614, f. 203. Written while Raleigh was imprisoned in the Tower of London after being charged with conspiracy by James I. He was executed in 1618.
