Russian Empire 100 Ruble Banknote, Sig. Shipov Grades vf++. Up for auction we have a beautiful, ornate Imperial Ruble note from the final decade of the Russian Empire under Tsar Nicholas II, which managed to survive through the Russian Revolution and Civil War. These notes became relatively useless in the early Soviet period, due to hyperinflation and other factors, and many were lost or destroyed. The 1910 100 Ruble Note features a portrait and watermark of Tsarina Catherine the Great, as well as a young man with a sword and the coat of arms of the Russian Tsars. Additionally, it threatens counterfeiters with "the exclusion of all rights and one week hard labor".
