It is said that Rene Lalique and Jules Verne were close acquaintances and these books were personally given to Rene Lalique from Jules Verne.

Outstanding type 3 single volume from Hetzel Au Globe Dore French edition of the Voyages Extraordinaires by Jules Verne published between 1896 and 1904. It includes the novel Hector Servadac, Voyages et Aventures a Travers Le Monde Solaire with black & white and color illustrations by P. Philippoteaux and 6 new engravings by G. Roux. Vibrant red cover with gild designs, green floral, blue background and black patterns. Collection Hetzel, Bibliotheque d'Education et de Recreation, published by Pierre Jules Hetzel et Cie, Paris. Written in red ink on recto of front cover: Grand-mere, 1er Janvier 1902.
