Two Portrait Miniatures of Children, 19th Century
Two Portrait Miniatures of Young Girls, Early 19th Century. Watercolor, unsigned. Each girl wearing a bonnet cap and white dress. The smaller framed in a cast brass locket brooch case and the larger framed in a brass locket case.
Dimensions: Sight 1 3/4 x 1 1/2in and 1 5/8 x 1 1/4in; Dimensions overall 2 1/8 x 1 6/8in and 2 1/2 x 2 1/8in.
This lot comes from an Upper West Side, New York City collection that will be featured in a short lecture by noted specialist of portrait miniatures, Elle Shushan. Condition:
Not examined out of the frames. Each portrait appears to be in generally good condition overall. The locket cases with typical wear, toning, scuffs and surface scratches throughout.
