Continental Red-Painted Tole Tray on Faux Bamboo Stand
A Continental Parcel Gilt, Ebonized and Red-Painted Tole Tray on Faux Bamboo Stand, The Tray 19th Century; The Stand Later. The oval tray decorated with trumpet vines and raised on a parcel gilt and painted stand having slightly splayed tapered legs and joined by a cross stretcher. Together with a smaller black tole tray fitted with a black painted faux bamboo wooden stand.
Dimensions: Height 20 1/2in; width 30in; depth 22 1/2in. The smaller example is 14" x 11" and 19" tall.
Provenance: Property from a Bucks County, Pennsylvania Collection Curated by Bennett and Judie Weinstock, Philadelphia.
Condition:
Structurally sound. The tole trays with typical wear, scratches, losses and rubbing to painted surface. The stands with minor nicks and wear, otherwise in generally good condition overall.
