Jaques Niklas Tardieu, Jesus among the Cripples
Jesus appears among the cripples and the blind and heals them, below the depiction and in the plate text, copperplate engraving, mid 18th c., inscribed in the lower left part of the print "Ce tableau est dans le Caeur de St. Martin des champs peint par J. Pestout: Et gravé par J.Tardieu le Fils", centre fold line, spotted, dimensions of depiction without lettering ca. 38 x 48 cm, dimensions of sheet ca. 42,5 x 49,5 cm. Artist's info: French engraver (1716 Paris to 1791 Paris), pupil of his father Nicolas-Henri Tardieu, 1749 admission to the Académie de peinture, 1750 represented for the first time in the Paris Salon, teacher of Pierre Alexandre Tardieu and Charles-Uegène Duponchel, source: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
