Tobias Konrad Lotter, copper engraved map of Hungary
Cartouche decorated with flags at lower right and inscribed herein "Tabula Hungaria et Regionum.... Tob. Conr. Lotter Geogr. Aug. Vind", at lower left mileage indicator, depiction of Hungary in the extent of the time with riparian states such as Romania, Bosnia, Bulgaria, Serbia, parts of Silesia, Bohemia, Poland, Ukraine and Greece, partly coloured copper engraving, circa 1760, usual folding line in the centre, nice strong impression, framed behind glass, dimensions of depiction ca. 37 x 58 cm. Artist's impression: also Tobias Conrad Lotter, German map engraver, cartographer and publisher (1717 Augsburg to 1777 Augsburg), from 1740 son-in-law and most productive co-worker of the cartographer and publisher Matthäus Seutter, 1740-44 he created the "Atlas Minor" under Seutter's responsibility, after Seutter's death (1757) his son Albrecht Karl (1722-1762) and his son-in-law Lotter as well as G. B. Probst continued the company, in 1757/58 Lotter became the sole owner of the publishing house, source: Thieme-Becker and Wikipedia.
