Artist's info: German painter and graphic artist (1907 Halle/Saale until 1976 Halle/Saale), considered as the most important naive artist of the GDR, 1921 beginning of an incomplete apprenticeship as a bricklayer, afterwards until 1939 casual and unskilled labourer, among others 1928-34 independent wool merchant as well as working as furniture carrier, construction worker, market helper etc., 1939-45 military service in 2.
