1971, unsigniert, Eisen gegossen, verschweißt und schwarz gefasst, aus Schrottfundstücken zurechtgeschnitten und montiert, an konischer Basis zwei angesetzte tellerförmige Elemente, in abstrahierter vegetativer Formensprache, nicht ganz komplett, partiell Korrosionsspuren, H 73 cm. Künstlerinfo: deutscher Bildhauer (1933 Berlin bis 2002 ebda.), 1951-1958 Architekturstudium an der TU Berlin mit Abschluss als Diplom-Ingenieur, anschließend selbstständig als Architekt und Bildhauer tätig, 1961-1969 Lehrertätigkeit am Lehrstuhl Freies Zeichnen und Malen an der TU Berlin, 1956 entstanden erste Stahlplastiken, es folgten Teilnahmen an zahlreichen Ausstellungen im In- und Ausland, Studien- und Arbeitsaufenthalte, u.a. in Frankreich, USA, Schottland, 1975-1994 Lehrtätigkeit am Rotkreuz-Institut, Berufsbildungswerk Berlin, 1980 Ausbau der Atelier-Werkstatt in Berlin-Steinstücken, Arbeiten von Press befinden ich heute im öffentlichen und privaten Raum, u.a. in der Berlinischen Galerie und im Neuen Berliner Kunstverein, Quelle: Ausstellungskatalog Neuer Berliner Kunstverein/Artothek Berlin, Fehrenbach, Grosskopf, Hulett, Press, Plastik/Grafik, vom 14. bis 23. 1971, unsigned, cast iron, welded and painted black, cut from found scrap and mounted, two plate-shaped elements attached to a conical base, in an abstract vegetative design, not quite complete, partial traces of corrosion, h 73 cm. Artist information: German sculptor (1933 Berlin - 2002 ibid.), 1951-1958 studied architecture at the Technical University of Berlin, graduating with a degree in engineering, subsequently worked as a freelance architect and sculptor, 1961-1969 taught at the Chair of Free Drawing and Painting at the Technical University of Berlin, 1956 created his first steel sculptures, participated in numerous exhibitions in Germany and abroad, study and work visits, including to France, the USA, Scotland, Scotland and other countries. 1975-1994 teaching at the Red Cross Institute, Berlin Vocational Training Centre, 1980 expansion of the studio-workshop in Berlin-Steinstücken, works by Press can be found today in public and private spaces, including the Berlinische Galerie and the Neuer Berliner Kunstverein, source: exhibition catalogue Neuer Berliner Kunstverein/Artothek Berlin, Fehrenbach, Grosskopf, Hulett, Press, sculpture/graphics, from 14 to 23 July 1971, shown here under Fig. I (Herbert Press) and Internet.
