הגאון רבי אליהו בכור חזן (תר"ה-תרס"ח) נינו של ה"חקרי לב". בשנת תרט"ז עלה לירושלים יחד עם זקנו הראשון לציון רבי חיים דוד חזן. הוסמך על ידו בשנת תרכ"ה. בשנת תרכ"ט כיהן כדיין בירושלים. בשנת תרמ"ט כיהן כחכם באשי ורב ראשי באלכסנדריה עד לפטירתו. חיבורו המפורסם שו"ת "תעלומות לב" ד' חלקים וספרים נוספים.
