Four large columns handwritten and signed by Rabbi Menachem Mendel Paneth of Deyzh, prized disciples of the Chasam Sofer
Rabbi Menachem Mendel Paneth (1817 - 1884) son of the Mareh Yechezkel. He studied in the yeshiva of the Chasam Sofer for five years and became one of his prized disciples. Following his marriage he relocated to Ohel where he formed a close relationship with the Yismach Moshe. He served as Av Beis Din of Deyzh and established a leading yeshiva there, home to many prominent Torah leaders. Rabbi Menachem Mendel led tens of thousands of followers and his Chassidic court was at the peek of its glory under his leadership. He authored Responsa Shaarei Tzedek on Ohr
