Ralph Douglass (1895-1971) "What is Man---?" lithograph, good condition, pencil signed lower right, image: 13x17, Douglass was born in St. Louis, Missouri in 1895, Ralph Waddell Douglass had a varied career focused on the art world. At various times in his life, he was a painter, graphic artist, cartoonist, illustrator and designer, but first and foremost he was an educator. He studied at Monmouth College in Illinois, where he received his B.A. Following graduation, he attended the Academy Julian in Paris, Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York City.
