Paradise, Phil - lithograph, good condition, 16x22.5
"Vaqueros II" is a colored lithograph in good condition, numbered in lower left 68/98 and titled in lower center, signed "Phil Paradise" on print in lower center and in margin in lower right. It measures 16x22.5, total dimensions are 24.25x31.5x2. Phil Paradise (1905-1997) was a painter, printmaker, illustrator, and teacher. He attended the Chouinard Art Institute in Los Angeles, and studied with F. Tolles Chamberlin, Leon Kroll, and Rico Lebrun. His works were influenced by his travels to Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. He taught at Chouinard Art Institute and Scripps's College, and in the 1940's set up his studio in Cambria, and began producing Cubist themed serigraph prints. His works were shown at the Art Institute of Chicago, Museum of Modern Art, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.
