Platt, Austin - "June Pastures" 67/100, etching
Austin Platt (1912-2003) original pencil signed etching. Signed in pencil 'Austin Platt' lower right. Titled in pencil lower left and numbered "67/100". Measures 7" x 9 7/8" (plate size) and 10.25" x 13.25" (sheet size). good condition.
Born at Mt. Lawley, Western Australia. An etcher and commercial artist, Platt studied at the Royal Art Society of New South Wales under Sydney Long. He made a tour of all the Australian states from 1932 to 1938 and produced etchings of most of the leading private and public secondary schools He is also known for his illustrations of tropical plants in the Sydney Botanical Gardens and etchings of scenes around Centennial Park.While the Raymer Society makes every effort to offer authentic, original artwork it is ultimately the bidders responsible for assessing and determining the work of art’s authenticity, condition and quality before purchasing.
