Alfred Renaudin Garden & Ruins Oil on Canvas 1898
Alfred Renaudin (French, 1866-1944). Oil on canvas painting titled "Potage et Verger au Pied des Ruines (Vegetable Garden and Orchard at the Foot of the Ruins)" depicting an orchard and garden amidst ruins, 1898. Signed and dated along the lower left. With two labels from Kurt E. Schon, Ltd. Fine Art affixed along the verso.
Unframed; height: 18 1/2 in x width: 30 1/4 in. Framed; height: 23 in x width: 35 in.
Condition: There are no visible tears, creases, or losses. The surface is stable, and the color is bold and bright. To the center of the right margin, there is an area of possible restoration. When inspected under UV light, there is no visible sign of restoration. Light wear to the frame; dust collected to the frame. The verso could not be inspected due to the nature of how the item is framed. The painting has been re-stretched.
