Edward Curtis (American, 1868-1952). Photograph titled "A Nakoaktok Mawihl" depicting a Native American man in front of a painted canvas and a carved and polychromed wooden sculpture, 1914. Inscribed "From Copyright Photograph 1914 by E.S. Curtis."

Don Allen (American, 19th c.) Photograph depicting 'Indian scouts' originally taken in 1865 depicting a group of Native Americans. With a stamp from Game, Fish, & Parks along the verso.

Don Allen; sight; height: 6 3/4 in x width: 9 1/4 in. Matted; height: 11 3/4 in x width: 14 1/4 in. Edward Curtis; sight; height: 6 1/2 in x width: 8 1/2 in. Framed; height: 11 in x width: 14 in.
Condition: The items are in fair condition with no major tears, creases, or losses. When inspected under UV light, both items do not show a sign of restoration. The photograph with a green mat is attached to the matte with framer's tape; therefore, the margins could not be inspected. Throughout the photograph, there are several scattered areas with creases, particularly along the right margin. Along the verso, there are pen inscriptions and skimming to the lower right corner. The other photograph is toned and adhered to the paper along the upper margin; the paper is affixed to the mat. There is minute loss to the lower right and left corners. Light creases along the margins. Foxing throughout. The verso could not be inspected due to the nature of how the photograph is matted.
