Pair of Silver & Sterling Cigarette Cases
Pair of silver cigarette cases, one sterling. One larger Russian case marked along the interior with an assay date mark of 1890, Moscow city mark, 84 Kokoshnik, and maker's mark. The smaller case marked 925 S.F. along the rim.
Provenance: Property from the distinguished collection of Mr. James Lee Soffer, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Big; height: 3 1/2 in x width: 2 1/2 in x depth: 1/2 in. Small; height: 3 in x width: 1 1/4 in x depth: 3/4 in. Gross weight: 206.1 g.
Condition: The items are in good condition with no visible dents, cracks, or losses. As expected, oxidation throughout, most noticeably to the interior edges. Light discoloration due to oxidation. Wear throughout. The bigger case has a white sticker adhered to the interior of the case; see the listing image. No visible sign of restoration under UV light.
