7 Transferware Rice Plates Birds - Bell & Tunstall
Group of seven transferware earthenware rice plates featuring birds. Six J. & M.P. Bell Co., Ltd. (Bells, Plate, and Johore), Glasgow plates in the following patterns: three "Agam-Jantan" and three "Hummingbird." There is one W. Adams and C. Tunstall Djellakong "Hong Batan" plate. Two brown plates, one red, three red and green, and one red and blue.
Diameter ranges from 8 3/4 in to 10 in.
Condition: The plates are in fair condition with no major chips, cracks, or losses that affect the overall piece. All items have crazing and wear throughout, as expected; colorations in some areas are faded, consistent with age and use. The red plate captured lower left has a line of chips to the rim. Throughout the underside, there is wear, crazing, original paint marks, original firing flaws, and discoloration as shown in the listing. There is a sticker to the underside of the plate captured lower center. None of them show a sign of restoration under UV light.
