Chinese Qing Yongzheng Iron Red Porcelain Bowl
Chinese Qing dynasty iron red glazed porcelain bowl. Well painted with peonies and scrollwork. The underside with a four-character Yongzheng mark in underglaze blue.
Provenance: Heritage Auctions, September 20, 2022, Lot 78116; Private California Collection.
Height: 2 1/2 in x diameter: 5 1/4 in.
Condition: The colors are bold and bright. There is a large semi-circular crack (approx. 4 inches in length) along the side of the bowl that has been professionally repaired. The crack shows up under UV light. Some transparent adhesive is visible along the exterior of the bowl along this crack. There is an extremely minute chip along the top rim where the crack begins. On the opposite side of the bowl there is a crack running vertically from the top rim downwards measuring approx. 2 1/2 inches. There are a few small firing flaws (black spots) along the interior of the bowl, original to production. Extremely light wear to the footrim. Wear to the box.
